The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced a recall of Novara Afterburner Trailer Bicycles. In all, more than 5,000 trailer bicycles are being recalled. They wre distributed by Recreational Equipment Inc.(REI), of Kent, Washington.

The children's trailer bicycle can detach from the adult bicycle, posing a fall hazard to children. The a single-wheel children's bicycle attaches to, and cannot be operated independently of, an adult bicycle. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported to date. This product was made in China. There seem to be an ever-increasing number of defective products coming out of China. If you own this defective product, discontinue use immediately and contact REI for a free replacement part, a full refund or a credit.
