BSU Spends $850K Defending Wrongful Death Action

The family of a former 21-year-old Ball State University student has filed a $100 million civil rights lawsuit against the school. It seems that a rookie campus officer shoot a 21-year old student, Mike McKinney. The family filed the suit in spite of the fact that a Delaware County grand jury cleared Officer Robert Duplin of any wrongdoing.

The shooting took place in November of 2003. The judge said he will allow no more than 10 day to hear the case against Officer Robert Duplain. Officer Duplain who is accused in the wrongful death case, is no longer a Ball State officer.
