Due to a health risk, Wild Alaskan Smoked Salmon Nova Lox produced by Salmolux Inc. WA is recalling lot # 01418.

It is feared that the salmon is contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, which is an organism that can be deadly to children. In fact, anyone with a compromised immune system, such as the ill or elderly, are at risk. The symptoms range from fever to diarrhea. Additionally, pregnant women are at risk of miscarrying.

The defective product reached Arizona, California, Nevada, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, West Virginia, and Virginia through a variety of retail stores. Fortunately, no illnesses have been reported to date.
