Replacing Recalled Pet Foods

Susy OwenMarch 31, 2007 6:11 PMRoger and Kathy Polifka of Crivitz thought that they were feeding their adopted Cocker Jordon, healthy food in 2005, after all, it was a reputable brand. They were dead wrong. Jordon died after eating contaminated dog food that they served him.
Unbelievably, when Jordan died, the only answer the Polifka's were able to get from the manufacturer as to why their dog got sick was that somehow the dog food managed to get out without sterilization. STERILIZATION! What must have been in their pet's food to necessitate sterilization in the first place? They were shocked and sickened by what their research revealed.
To add insult to injury Kathy states "The manufacturer was going to send us a $5 coupon, but we didn't want the coupon. Instead, we wanted answers to why Jordan got sick and died from using the company's food," Kathy Polifka said. The Polifkas decided to make their own healthy pet treats for their remaining dogs rather than give them tainted pet food. From pain, sorrow and shock came a great idea: The Polifka's decided to open their own company in Jordan's memory
"We use only the finest, restaurant-quality ingredients, organic when we can get them, along with grass-fed meats that are free from hormones, antibiotics and steroids, and are hypoallergenic and wheat-free," Polifka said. A few of the treats flavors include black angus double cheeseburger, grilled salmon. Lots of variety and healthy too, how can you go wrong. www.awesomepettreats.com.
