Police Officer Struck by Car - Uninjured

A Stockton Police Officer struck by a car was not injured after responding to a domestic violence call on Tuesday, said police.

Police responded to a call at 5:15pm to the 8400 block of Mariners Drive, where they were informed a man had dropped off his kids and then gotten into an argument with the mother, hitting her and another person.

While at the scene taking the report, the man came back and hit officer, Sgt. Jim Osborne said. At which point other family members showed up and joined in the argument.

One family member, Lanette Barretto, 43, of Stockton swerved her vehicle while driving away from the scene, striking an officer, Osborne said. She was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon on an officer and resisting arrest.

Richard Barretto Jr., 27, of Stockton was arrested on suspicion of spousal abuse, battery and battery on an officer. His father, Richard Barretto, 44, was arrested on suspicion of obstructing justice.
