On May 4, 2007, a Ladera Ranch couple faced a day unimagineable grief. Lori Coble, her three small children and the children's grandmother, Cynthia Gene Maestri, 60, were on the on the San Diego Freeway when they were struck by a negligent truck driver, Jorge Romero.
The children 5-year-old Kyle Coble and his sisters, Emma, 4, and Katie, 2 all died in the incident that day. Lori and the children's grandmother were injured in the crash. Lori had stopped in the minivan behind traffic in order to exit. Allegedly, Romero drove up behind the van at speeds in excess of 60 mph. In addition to the speed of the truck, Romero was hauling electronics that weighed more than 40,000 pounds. The children didn't stand a chance. Now Romaro is awaiting trial
Fast forward to Wednesday, April 30. Lori, who used fertiltiy to assist her with a new pregnancy, gave birth to triplets. Yes, triplets. She delivered two girls and a boy weighing in a four pounds. Truly unbelieveable!!! Wishing Lori and her family much joy in the coming years.
